Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has publicly asked President William Ruto for forgiveness as his impeachment motion nears discussion in Parliament. Speaking at his Karen home on Sunday, Gachagua expressed a desire to reconcile with Ruto, reflecting on their shared leadership and the challenges they've faced since taking office.
"If I have wronged him in any way, I ask for his forgiveness," Gachagua stated, also extending the plea to his wife, Dorcas, and Members of Parliament ahead of the vote. He invoked faith, comparing his current trials to those Ruto faced during his time as Deputy President, and expressed hope that divine intervention would see him through this political storm.
