Detectives Rescue Abducted Minor in Dramatic Operation in Kabete

In a high-stakes operation, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit based in Kabete successfully rescued a minor who had been abducted from his father’s church in the Congo area of Kawangware. The daring rescue mission culminated in the arrest of the suspect, Juston Musundu, 33, who was found in possession of multiple SIM cards and mobile handsets used to cover his tracks.

The abduction, which plunged the clergyman's family into agony, prompted an immediate and intense manhunt by the officers following reports and uproar from area residents. The boy was eventually located in the Ruku area of Wangige, Kabete Constituency, Kiambu County, after days of relentless pursuit.

“After days of relentless pursuit, the boy was found in Ruku area of Wangige, and the suspect, Juston Musundu, 33, was arrested in possession of different SIM cards and mobile handsets used by him to cover his trails,” read part of the statement from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

This rescue operation forms part of a series of efforts by the DCI to safeguard minors from abduction and similar unsavory incidents. In a related case in January, the DCI apprehended a suspect linked to the kidnapping of a 9-year-old Grade Three pupil from a school in Donholm, Nairobi County.

According to the DCI, the child was abducted in the evening after school hours. The boy’s father discovered his son was missing when he went to pick him up and learned from inquiries that the boy had been seen leaving with his class teacher. This prompted an immediate search for the missing child.

The successful rescue operations highlight the DCI’s commitment to protecting children and bringing perpetrators of such heinous crimes to justice.

The community has lauded the detectives for their unwavering dedication and swift action, which have brought relief to the affected families and enhanced safety in the region.
