EACC recovers grabbed lands valued Ksh3.2 billions in Eldoret

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has recovered pieces of public land valued Ksh.3.2 billion from grabbers within Eldoret.

The lands were grabbed by private companies owned by high-profile persons according to EACC spokesperson Eric Ngumbi. He said the companies colluded with land officials in the process of grabbing the land.

The land which was initially belonging to the Judiciary, Administration Police, Uasin Gishu Referral Hospital, County Fire Station and the County Assembly of Uasin Gishu was acquired illegally by the private companies.

Ngumbi revealed that 97 other properties worth Ksh.7.4 billion currently in private hands in Eldoret Town are under investigation for recovery and return to the public.

EACC has been on the look for the corrupt individuals and companies for the recovery of the grabbed lands or stolen assests.
