Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and three other MPs Support Gen-Z's Planned Anti-Government Protests scheduled Next week Tuesday Amid Growing Discontent

A group of Members of Parliament has voiced support for the planned anti-government protests set for next week, aligning themselves with the demands of the Gen-Z protesters. Leading the charge is Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, who, along with MPs Babu Owino (Embakasi East), Amos Mwago (Starehe), and Busia Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo, criticized the government's handling of key issues such as the high cost of living, unemployment, and public service reforms.

The lawmakers argue that the government has not adequately addressed the grievances of the youth, who are calling for more substantial changes, including the dissolution of Parliament. MP Wamuchomba highlighted the government's failure to engage with the public's concerns, warning that those aligning with the administration may face political consequences.

MP Owino, known for his outspoken nature, emphasized the need for the government to reconnect with the people's demands and called for judicial oversight on the use of police force against protesters. Meanwhile, MP Mwago criticized the economic strategies being implemented, labeling them as ineffective, while Omanyo urged President Ruto to heed the voices of the people rather than focusing on superficial changes.

As posters circulate on social media, rallying the youth for the upcoming demonstrations, the support from these MPs underscores the growing discontent within the political landscape and adds momentum to the protesters' cause.
