Former Kimilili MP Passes Away in Nairobi Hospital

Suleiman Kasuti Murunga, the former Member of Parliament for Kimilili Constituency, has died. Murunga, who served from 2013 to 2017 under the Ford Kenya party, passed away on Wednesday night while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital. His death marks the loss of a respected figure in Kenyan politics and a dedicated leader of the Kimilili community.
Didmus Barasa, Murunga's successor and current Kimilili MP, paid tribute to him on social media, offering his heartfelt condolences to Murunga’s family and constituents. "With a heavy heart, I wish to give my sincere condolences to my people of Kimilili for the loss of our former Member of Parliament Hon. Suleiman Kasuti Murunga. My deepest sympathies are with his family and friends. May his soul rest in eternal peace," Barasa wrote.

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko also expressed his sorrow, highlighting Murunga's contributions beyond politics. "Rest in peace, my good Hon. Suleiman Murunga, former MP Kimilili, and proprietor of our old popular club Simmers," Sonko stated, recalling Murunga's legacy as a local entrepreneur.
