IG Douglas Kanja Transfers all Kware Police Officers Amid Outcry Over Mukuru Killings

The Inspector General of Police has taken swift action in response to the horrifying discovery of multiple mutilated bodies in Mukuru. In a significant move, all officers stationed at Kware Police Station have been transferred to ensure an impartial investigation.

Announcing the decision on Sunday, the new police IG emphasized the importance of an unbiased approach. "To ensure fair and unbiased investigations, I have moved the officers from Kware Police Station," he stated. "In this difficult time, we stand with the community and remain committed to uncovering the truth and bringing those responsible to justice."

The discovery of 14 bodies, wrapped in polythene bags and tied with ropes, at an abandoned quarry-turned-dumpsite has sparked national outrage. In response, President William Ruto has directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to lead the probe and ensure swift justice.

The IG assured the public that the investigation, conducted in collaboration with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and other security agencies, will be completed within 21 days. "Our officers, in collaboration with the ODPP, are working tirelessly to conclude the investigations within 21 days," he said. "The police service and I are committed to conducting transparent, thorough, and swift investigations."

This decisive action aims to restore public confidence and reassure the Mukuru community that justice will be served. The nation awaits the findings of the investigation, hopeful for accountability and resolution.
