Molo Member of Parliament [Name] suffered extensive property damage during a violent raid at his rural home on Tuesday, June 25th, following his support for the contentious Finance Bill 2024. The incident, reportedly carried out by local residents protesting the bill, resulted in significant losses for the MP.
Reports indicate that three vehicles were damaged during the raid. Two vehicles—a hatchback and a Land Cruiser—were completely burned, while a double cabin pickup sustained damage from thrown stones. The MP also lost approximately 10,000 chickens that were being reared on his property, with some stolen and others burned during the unrest.
In addition to the vehicular and livestock losses, six grade cows and 29 goats were reported stolen. Police efforts led to the recovery of four cows, but one cow had already been slaughtered. Authorities are actively pursuing leads to locate and recover the missing goats.

The MP's main residence in Molo was also significantly affected, with locals smashing windows of his two-story house, necessitating extensive repairs.
The protests, triggered by the Finance Bill 2024, swept across the country as demonstrators voiced their opposition to the legislation. President William Ruto responded to public outcry by announcing the withdrawal of the bill after consultations with MPs.

The incident highlights the volatile nature of public reactions to legislative decisions and underscores the challenges in maintaining law and order during periods of heightened political tension.
