Obama to Visit Kenya Next Year to Support New Leadership School-President Ruto

During the launch of the Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association Strategic Plan, President William Ruto announced a groundbreaking initiative: the establishment of a leadership school at Nairobi University, with the support of former President Barack Obama.

Ruto recently traveled to the United States and secured a meeting with Obama to discuss the project. Highlighting the shared heritage, Ruto, an alumnus of Nairobi University, reminded Obama that his father also attended the same institution. "I asked President Obama to help us create a leadership school modeled after Harvard's Kennedy School of Government," Ruto explained. "Leadership is critical, and we need to prepare our youth to be exceptional leaders."

Obama enthusiastically agreed to back the project, promising to rally support and resources. "We decided to name it the 'Barack Obama School of Leadership' at Nairobi University," Ruto announced. "Obama has committed to visiting Kenya next year to help launch the school and ensure its success. We aim to provide our young people with the best leadership education possible."

Obama's upcoming visit will mark another chapter in his enduring connection with Kenya, a country he has visited several times, including a memorable trip in 2015 as a sitting U.S. president and another in 2018 post-presidency.

The new leadership school is set to transform the educational landscape in Kenya, equipping future leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary for effective governance and societal development.
