Political Activist Morara Kebaso Attacked by Goons at Gachagua Impeachment Hearing at Bomas

Political activist Morara Kebaso faced a violent assault at the Bomas of Kenya while attending the public participation hearing on the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. As Morara prepared to make his presentation, chaos erupted when a group of goons attacked him, throwing chairs and attempting to physically harm him.

In footage shared online, a visibly shaken Morara is seen dodging the flying chairs, trying to shield himself as the situation worsened. Despite efforts to escape, the attackers followed him down the hallway, continuing their assault.

Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang, who held the microphone during the incident, appeared to encourage the violence, shouting, “Nairobi Hoyeee! Hii ndio utamu ya Nairobi!” amidst the commotion.

Following the attack, Morara shared an update on social media, explaining that he was barred entry initially and later denied a chance to speak. Injured from the ordeal, he stated he was heading to the hospital but vowed to continue speaking out, declaring, “I live to speak another day.”

Before attending the session, Morara had expressed strong views on the impeachment, asserting that if Gachagua were removed from office, President William Ruto should also step down, as the two were elected as a pair.
