President Ruto Mourns High Court Judge David Majanja

President William Ruto on Thursday mourned the passing of High Court Judge David Majanja, who died on Wednesday. In his message, President Ruto lauded Judge Majanja as a brilliant lawyer who had joined the bench after an exemplary career at the bar. He highlighted Majanja's integrity and his ability to inspire his colleagues.
"On behalf of the government, I extend condolences to Hon. Majanja's family and friends, and the Judiciary. May Almighty God grant you the strength to bear this loss, and may his soul rest in eternal peace," Ruto stated.
President Ruto highlighted the sorrowful nature of Judge Majanja's death, pointing out that it occurred at the start of what seemed to be a promising and distinguished career. Chief Justice Martha Koome also conveyed her sympathies, indicating that the entire Judiciary was deeply saddened by the premature loss of the judge.
Chief Justice Koome referred to Majanja as a significant contributor to the advancement of transformative law in Kenya after the 2010 Constitution. She highlighted his pivotal involvement as a Commissioner of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), emphasizing his key role in strengthening the institution.
"We stand in solidarity with the family, friends, and the entire judiciary and JSC community during this period of mourning," Koome wrote. She urged the public to show sensitivity and compassion, allowing the family to grieve privately.
"We will share more information in due course. May Justice Majanja's soul rest in eternal peace," the Chief Justice concluded.
Judge David Majanja was widely respected for his commitment to upholding the law and his substantial impact on Kenya's legal framework. His involvement in the JSC and his efforts in shaping progressive legislation will be honored as pivotal in the nation's legal domain.
The whole legal community stands united with the nation in grieving the passing of a respected judge whose influence will endure for years to come.
