Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has come out strongly in defense of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, following claims by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi that Gachagua has only two weeks left in office. The controversy erupted after Sudi's assertion that a decision had been made to remove Gachagua, a move Wamuchomba characterized as part of a corrupt agenda.

Speaking during Gachagua's tour of Githurai on Sunday, September 22, Wamuchomba accused Sudi of seeking Gachagua’s ouster to facilitate his own dubious interests. She pointed to what she described as a behind-the-scenes scheme by Sudi to sideline the deputy president for personal gain.
“Sudi, we know what you’re up to. When you went to Nyeri, the deputy president was supposed to attend, but a plan was devised to keep him away,” Wamuchomba claimed. “You even set a seat for him to embarrass him. Now you’re saying he only has two weeks? We see through your intentions. You’re trying to position yourself closer to the president to push your corrupt agenda. After your failed dealings with Gachagua, you want him out to execute your illegal plans. We are your medicine, Sudi."
Wamuchomba’s fierce defense comes after Sudi’s allegations that Gachagua’s removal is imminent. However, Sudi quickly doubled down, sharing a cryptic message that suggested the decision to oust Gachagua was already sealed.
“The die is cast. Good riddance,” Sudi remarked, fueling further speculation about an ongoing political struggle within the corridors of power.
The developing friction between the two MPs signals a power struggle that could have significant implications for the political landscape, with Gachagua's position potentially hanging in the balance. As the confrontation unfolds, the tension between those defending and opposing Gachagua continues to mount, raising questions about the future dynamics within the ruling coalition.
