Three Men Die in Granite Offloading Accident in Ruiru, Kiambu County

A tragic incident occurred in Ruiru, Kiambu County, where three men lost their lives while offloading granite from a trailer that had transported the material from Nairobi's industrial area. The incident took place on Thursday evening when a group of eight people was offloading the granite. Unfortunately, the granite slipped and fell on them, resulting in the deaths.

Ruiru Sub-County police commander Alex Shikondi reported that four of the workers managed to escape, while another individual sustained serious injuries and is currently recuperating in the hospital.

Survivors of the incident recounted the horrific experience, noting that their attempts to rescue their colleagues were in vain. One survivor, who preferred to remain anonymous, mentioned that the trailer was unstable, complicating the offloading process, and that those handling the granite lacked experience in doing so safely. Authorities have launched an investigation into the deaths.
