On Sunday, August 11, Co-operative and SMEs Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya attended a church service at Mariakani Church of God in South B, where he confidently assured the congregation of his commitment to his new role. The former Kakamega governor, who recently joined President William Ruto's administration, emphasized his willingness to contribute positively to the government’s agenda.

"I am ready to serve and help this government deliver for the people," Oparanya stated, highlighting his readiness to collaborate with the Kenya Kwanza administration. However, he made it clear that his support comes with conditions, warning that he would not hesitate to step away if his advice is disregarded.
"The people of Kakamega know the work I have done, and they believe I can contribute effectively. I am here to help, but if my advice is ignored, I will not hesitate to walk away," Oparanya cautioned.
Oparanya's appointment is part of a broader move by President Ruto to include leaders from various political backgrounds in his Cabinet. The former governor's inclusion, along with four other ODM party officials, signals an effort to create a more inclusive government. However, Oparanya's strong words suggest that he is prepared to hold the administration accountable to its promises and his contributions.
