In a thrilling pre-season friendly in Columbus, Ohio, Erling Haaland's electric hat-trick led Manchester City to a 4-2 triumph over Chelsea on Saturday. The reigning Premier League champions made a powerful statement, scoring goals in quick succession, leaving Chelsea struggling to keep up in front of a packed stadium of 71,280 fans.

Haaland, who donned the captain’s armband, wasted no time in showing why he's hailed as one of the world's top football talents. The 24-year-old Norwegian striker converted a penalty in the fourth minute and, just 17 seconds after the restart, pounced on a Moises Caicedo mistake to smash a right-footed shot into the back of the net, giving City a 2-0 lead within the first five minutes.
The momentum continued as Oscar Bobb added a third goal in the 55th minute, skillfully cutting inside from the right wing to fire a left-footed shot past a defender and into the near post. Haaland then sealed his hat-trick in the 56th minute, capitalizing on a turnover in Chelsea’s half and flicking in a left-footed shot to make it 4-0 just 25 seconds after the restart.
Chelsea’s response came too late, with Raheem Sterling pulling one back in the 59th minute and Noni Madueke adding a consolation goal in the 89th. Despite their efforts, it was Haaland’s dazzling performance that stole the spotlight, showcasing why Manchester City remains a formidable force as they gear up for the upcoming season.
