Newcastle vs Tottenham (Saturday, 1430 EAT)
Newcastle hosts Tottenham at St. James' Park as the fight for top four intensifies. Tottenham is ahead of Aston Villa with goal difference and each 60 points. A win for Spurs will help Ange Postecoglou's side move 3 points clear off Aston Villa in the fourth place fight.
High-scoring encounter can be expected when Newcastle and Tottenham meet at St James’ Park as both teams are packed with attacking talent.
Hot streak: Newcastle have won all six of their home league games against London-based opponents this season, three of which were by 3+ goal margins.
Brentford vs Sheffield United [1700 EAT]
With just four points above the relegation zone, Brentford is looking for a win to reduce the relegation threats. Brentford are winless in nine games stretching back to early February, but they will see the visit of rock-bottom Sheffield United as an excellent chance to end that streak.
The Blades are nine points adrift of safety with just seven games to play and their own survival prospects look bleak - although their 2-2 draw with Chelsea last time out suggests they haven’t given up the ghost just yet.
Hot stat: Sheffield United are conceding 7.77 corners per Premier League match this season - the most of any side in the competition.
Burnley vs Brighton [1700EAT]
Burnley are trying to stage a late-season surge away from the relegation places and they will have earmarked the visit from Brighton as a must-win affair. Burnley faces Brighton at home knowing that avoiding defeat would hand them their longest unbeaten home league run of the season so far after a win and a draw against Brentford and Wolves respectively in their last two such outings. Another draw here would seem the most likely outcome if history is to be believed, as six of the 11 Premier League H2Hs between these two sides have ended level, including this season’s reverse.
Hot streak: None of the last eight H2Hs have been won by the home team on the day.
Manchester City vs Luton[1700EAT]
Manchester City looking for a perfect week as they’re engaged in a three-way tussle for Premier League glory and drew 3-3 with Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League classic in midweek. However, Pep Guardiola’s men trail both Arsenal and Liverpool by a point in England’s top flight, so need to keep up the pressure, which they did by overcoming Crystal Palace 4-2 last Saturday to go 16 league games without defeat.
Man City and Luton have met twice already this season, the first a closely fought battle won 2-1 by City in the league and the second a 6-2 massacre by Guardiola's men in the fifth round of the FA Cup. Their meeting today looks more likely to mimic the cup thrashing as City look to take control in the Premier League title race.
Hot stat: A league-high 25 (78%) of Luton’s games in 2023/24, heading into this weekend, have seen both teams score.
Nottingham Forest vs Wolves[1700EAT]
Neither side has been in great form in recent weeks but, while it is understandable for Wolves to have eased off the gas as they head towards a mid-table finish, Forest are still struggling to collect points despite being in the thick of the relegation battle.
Wolves make the short journey to Nottingham frustrated and believing they were on the wrong end of another crucial VAR decision in last weekend’s 2-1 home defeat to West Ham.
None of Wolves' last eight league games has featured more than three goals and they have kept only one clean sheet in their last 10 matches.
Both teams have scored in Nottingham Forest's last four Premier League games and they have conceded the first goal in eight of their last 11 matches.
Half of Wolves' 12 wins this season have been 2-1 victories.
Hot stat: Wolves’ Premier League games this season have averaged the joint-third fewest first half goals (1.16).
Bournemouth vs Manchester United [1930EAT]
Bournemouth haven't been able to win a home game against a current top-six side this season.Manchester United have won six of their last nine away across all competitions. United have won three of the last four meetings between these two sides.
Manchester United may be a little distracted by a double focus on the upcoming FA Cup last-four date and Premier League but they still look a good bet to win at Bournemouth this today.
Hot stat: Bournemouth have scored a league-low five goals in the first half of Premier League matches at home this season.
